North Park Theatre

1428 Hertel Ave, Buffalo, New York 14216

Eva Marie Saint and Paul Newman star in Otto Preminger’s 1960 epic blockbuster about the 1948 founding of the State of Israel.

A major success at the box office, EXODUS shaped American attitudes toward Israel for decades after its release.

Today the film is most notable for its Academy Award winning score by Ernest Gold, as well as for the part it played in ending the Hollywood blacklist, after Preminger insisted that Dalton Trumbo receive a screenwriter credit for his work.

Tickets available at our box office or online

Based on the Leon Uris best-seller, Exodus (1960) is an epic tale about the late-1940s creation of the state of Israel.

Passionately directed by Otto Preminger and adapted by Dalton Trumbo, the film features an all-star cast – Paul Newman, Eva Marie Saint, Ralph Richardson, Peter Lawford, Sal Mineo, Jill Haworth, Lee J. Cobb, David Opatoshu, and John Derek – in a sprawling and phenomenally moving narrative underscored by the Academy Award®-winning music of the great Ernest Gold.

Israel @ 70 Celebration!

Thursday, April 19th @ 6:00PM

Acqua

2192 Niagara Street  Buffalo, NY 14207  United States

Tickets

“LET’S REJOICE AND BE HAPPY !” Bob Dylan sang the song. Chubby Checker also sang it.  So did the Smothers Brothers.  Harry Belafonte considered it one of the two “stand out” songs he would sing.

The song calls for us to “rejoice!”  It tells us to “sing and be happy.”  It calls for us to “awake with a happy heart.”

We will celebrate Israel’s milestone 70th Independence Day following those instructions from that song: “Hava Nagila.”

The party at Acqua on April 19 will be a joyous party you will not want to miss.  Live nostalgic and contemporary Israeli music performed live on stage, for us to translate to our feet on the dance floor at Acqua.

The 10 person food and tasting committee designed a custom Israeli menu with the chef at Acqua.  You will have an excellent taste of Tel Aviv and Jerusalem right here in Buffalo.  It will not disappoint.  Come hungry.

Schmaltz Brewery will sponsor the beer.  Come thirsty.

Israeli wines will be served.  Come ready for some  Israeli “fruit of the vine.”

“Let’s rejoice and be happy” as Hava Nagila teaches us to celebrate this wonderful milestone in our history.
