We celebrate LGBTQ Pride this week at Temple Beth Zion in Western New York with a full weekend of events – a special Shabbat service and guest Rabbi Mike Moskowitz, the Gay Men’s Chorus on Saturday evening, and participation in the Buffalo Pride Parade on Sunday. Please join us for as many of the festivities as you can!
Equal rights and inclusion are at the heart of contemporary progressive Judaism, especially the Reform Judaism of Temple Beth Zion.
We still have much to do.
To be truly inclusive means helping everyone feel that our Jewish home is everyone’s home – that no one has to fight to assert our right to be included. To be truly welcoming means that everyone gets to feel “normal” in our synagogue.
So, we need to celebrate and doggedly pursue LGBTQ Pride and Inclusion all the time.
As we finish reading Leviticus this week we will chant “Chazak Chazak v’Nitchazek” – “be strong, be strong, let us strengthen each other” – we find real strength when each of us becomes “we”.
Let us work to create a welcome in which everyone can become us, a good Pride week to all,
