Inner Wealth

Aaron Sull January 17, 2020 8:40 am No Comments

Regular Torah study has a special place in Jewish life. In the paragraphs of the Shema, we read about teaching Torah to our children, of speaking words of Torah in the morning and evening, while at home and while on the road. We recite daily (in the evening prayer)- “they (words of Torah) are our life” and we sing weekly how Torah is a tree of life for those that hold her and its supporters receive “inner” wealth.

For this reason, the prophet/leader Joshua taught “Let not this Book of the Torah cease from your lips, but recite it day and night, so that you may observe faithfully all that is written in it. Then will you prosper in your undertakings and only then will you be successful” (Joshua 1:8.)

This brings us to the importance of carving out daily time for Torah study. There has never been a time in history where Torah learning is more accessible and adaptable to your life. What an opportunity we have to strengthen ourselves, our homes and our community by making Torah learning a more consistent part of our lives. To this end, I’ve included below a list of learning opportunities that can be sent directly to your inbox or text on a daily basis.

The idea is to pick one that speaks to you and that you can realistically do every day. I would also suggest doing this with a spouse or friend (for accountability purposes and to elevate your learning.) I would also personally be happy to join you in the topic you choose (so please let me know.)
