Mitch Redlo passed away on July 6, 2020. Mitch was a 2.5 yr liver transplant survivor and although his hopes for returning to normal life were high and he was on the road to recovery, his health suddenly and seriously declined during these past few weeks.
He was predeceased by his father, Samuel “Sol” Redlo. Survived by his son, Jesse Redlo; brother, Bob (Michele) Redlo; sister, Rhona (Paul) Scoffield and mother Janet Redlo. He also was an uncle and great uncle to several nieces and nephews.
Mitch was a professor of Economics at Monroe Community College in Rochester NY for over 30 years. He also taught classes at Rochester Institute of Technology, published several articles and books and was a lecturer and guest speaker at educational conferences around the country.
He was honored many times (6 time inductee) in Who’s who of American teachers and also contributed greatly to the College Administration as Vice President and President of the Faculty Senate. He enjoyed all sports, particularly taking his son to “wrestling” matches and was a pretty great golfer and tennis player.
Mitch loved comedy and even tried his hand at creating and running a comedy club in Buffalo NY where we grew up. Anyone who knew him enjoyed his sharp wit and sense of humor. He enjoyed business related work, mentored many students and advised many budding entrepreneurs in the Western NY area.
Very few people can say they remember the day he was born, I remember it as though it happened yesterday, a beautiful baby brother entered our lives We had been a family of 4 for a long time and when he came along our family was complete.
Although he will be deeply missed by those who knew him well, his bright spirit lives on in his students, friends and family. Due to COVID Restrictions Mitch’s Service will be broadcast only, no public attendance.
