The Brotherhood of Temple Beth Zion is pleased to announce that their February Achim program will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, February 11, 2018, at the second floor of the Meadows Lounge, located at the Weinberg Campus, 2650 North Forest Road, Getzville, NY. Please note the change in time from our usual 10:00 am start. Our featured speaker will be Mr. Allan Harris, Traffic and News Reporter for WBEN Radio.
Mr. Harris is a well-known local news reporter to whom many of us awake every morning. After growing up in north Buffalo he attended Bennett High School and developed a love for broadcasting at UB. He later studied radio and television on the west coast. He returned to New York where he worked in Oneonta and Utica before heading for Rochester where he spent thirty years as a reporter and talk show host. He returned to Buffalo about ten years ago to be near his family.
During his years in broadcasting he has had the opportunity to interview many political figures, entertainers and athletes; including Senators, Members of Congress, Golda Meir, Danny Kaye, Mickey Mantle, Cal Ripken and numerous Buffalo Bills. He will be discussing his profession and experiences. There will be an opportunity for discussion and questions.
Achim is a monthly news and educational program for the benefit of the residents, and their guests, at the Weinberg Campus and is open to the public, at no cost.
