Over 80 educators attended the Holocaust Resource Center’s conference on How Dialogue can prevent Polarization, Extremism, and Genocide.Breakout sessions included the topics of Banned Books, the Echo Chambers in Red China and American Politics, and expanding your Holocaust toolkit.
All participants heard and spend time with local Holocaust survivors. Thank you to Survivor Dr. Herman Stone and all the participants. Learning from the past so the teacher can be different.
Dr. Herman Stone was born in Munich, German in 1924. His family suffered under the Nuremberg Laws which stripped Jews of property, status and education. Dr. Stone and his family obtained a hard to get visa to leave Germany in late January 1939, with about $4.00. They traveled to England and later to United States.
