JFS ShalOM Yoga x Sukkot
Thursday, September 27, 2018 at 6 PM – 7:30 PM
Temple Beth Zion
805 Delaware Ave, Buffalo, New York 14209
Join us for our third installment of JFS ShalOM Yoga, held in partnership with our friends at Temple Beth Zion. All proceeds of this class support our Immigrant and Refugee Services department.
We are celebrating Sukkot, the Jewish harvest festival with an evening of yoga, meditation, and a guided discussion on Refugee Resettlement in WNY!
The central symbol of Sukkot is the sukkah, a temporary shelter that has three walls and is wide open, with an unfinished roof that exposes us to the elements, but also enables us to see the stars. On Sukkot we are encouraged to leave our comfortable homes and spend time with family and friends outside under the sukkah.
At JFS, we know that for so many, shelter remains impermanent. Today, more than 65 million refugees and displaced people still wander the earth in search of a safe place to call home. We will be sharing some of their stories in the sukkah this year.
This is an outdoor class, all levels are welcome outside under the sukkah. Our amazing instructor, Beverly Rose makes everyone feel at ease! Please bring your own yoga mat or towel.
If you are unable to attend the event, but would still like to support JFS, here is the link to make a monetary donation:
